Friday afternoon kicked off with the first instalment of the Varsity Cup 5V5 tournament, brought to you by Fives Futbol & Varsity College. It was held at the Hellenic Club, Moullie Point and I must say the day was a real success. There was some great talent on show and I have managed to sign one or two gems for my own Mr. Cape Town 5’s corporate side, who play on a Monday evening 😉 It turns out Keegan (or Giggsy as his mates call him) actually plays for FC Cape Town and has been called up to the SA U23 National Squad. Yes people, I have an eye for exceptional quality when it comes to football 😉

My money was on the side that won it from the start and I made quite a few new mates during the day too. A big thanks must go to Bavaria non-alcoholic, Puma and Adidas Originals for the prizes, as well as Ray from Fives for organising the event. I must say, there were some belters down from the ‘Wes Kus’ too…Jurre!
