If it wasn’t enough for football fans around the World to see Man City draw Liverpool in the Carling Cup semi final, they have now drawn Manchester United in the FA Cup 3rd round! This is definitely the most eagerly awaited tie of the round which saw Premiership side Arsenal draw Leeds, which should also present quite a juicy tie. From a Manchester United fans point of view I am actually glad this has happened, because we owe them one after they hammered us 6-1 at The Theatre of Dreams. The tie will be held on the blue side of Manchester, which is lined up to be one of the games of the season.
Wayne Rooney admitted that his last stunner against City was the best goal he has ever scored in his life… Hopefully the man can come to the party again, this time for revenge!
Remember, this is not the league. Cup ties produce fireworks as the loser goes home and is knocked out of the tournament. It may even be a good omen for the team that looses this one, as they can focus on the league which is a much more prestigious trophy to take home… But, none of these sides will want to lose this one, there are bragging rights at stake 😉
Manchester City are looking to win their second piece of Silverware and there is no better way to do that than winning both the league and the FA Cup. They have the players, and, they will be VERY fired up!!!
