The Champions League this year has seen some extremely interesting twists and turns. Both the big Manchester giants were not only knocked out of the tournament, but also faltered away in the Europa League! 5 times winners Liverpool were not even involved this year after failing to qualify. But as I am sure most of you expected the favourites Barcelona are still in the mix and they might have a tougher tie than they think on their hands.
Here are the fixtures, dates and my prediction for the Final. This years show piece wil be held at the Alliance Arena, and, could even feature the team that plays in this stadium week in, week out!!!
Semi Final Fixtures:
1st Leg
Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid (17 April)
Chelsea vs Barcelona (18 April)
2nd Leg
Barcelona vs Chelsea
Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
Barca and Real definitely have the advantage as it is always better in my opinion to play the second leg at your home ground! As much as I think Barcelona will go through, I think there might just be a big upset on the cards. Don’t forget that if Chelsea go through they could set up a meeting with their old foe Jose Mourinho… Torres to get the winner anyone? HAHA Bayern will also be spurred on by the fact that if they make it past Madrid they have a home final in front of 50,000+ German fans!
