I saw some interesting Tweets going around yesterday from @quirkagency about a merger between them and Red & Yellow School Of Design. Having gone to AAA School Of Advertising myself, this was some pretty interesting news. AAA being partly owned by the advertising industry itself, proves that it is up there with the best when it comes to learning the trade and getting qualified. I actually had a conversation with some people about this just the other day, stating that AAA, Red & Yellow & Vega are by far the best options to go for if you are looking to enter the World of advertising!
I thing I always said after graduating from AAA is that there was way too little focus on the digital and social media side of marketing. In all honesty that is where the industry is going at the moment, with every brand from my own personal blog, to a global powerhouse like Mc Donald’s making use of this medium for customer relationship management, to campaigns, to something as simple as general interaction! Quirk was founded in 1999 and has cemented their place as one of the top digital marketing agencies in South Africa. Their latest movement see’s them snap up and advertising college that is just over 20 years old and this will definitely help sculp some of our youth’s minds for the digital future!
From what I can see the Quirk Education arm has merged with the renowned design college, I am guessing this will be a mutually beneficial partnership. Both parties can help each other grow, with Quirk snapping up the greatest digital minds to come from the college whilst they also help broaden the minds of the young learners who want to enter this sphere of advertising! I think this is a great move well done guys…
Thanks to imod.co.za for confirming this information, I actually saw the article there this morning, as I went to the Cape Town Alive blog aggregator. If you don’t know what that is, it basically plugs all the best stories from the top local blogs and crunches them into one awesome page where you can do all your reading. Today’s top stories are from the likes of Whale Cottage, I Mod, Food Blog Cape Town, MCBN, Life Is Savage, Bangers & Nash, 2 Oceansvibe and myself of coarse… To check today’s top stories out click [here].
