If you read my blog, follow me on Twitter or keep up with my Facebook Page, you will know I have an undying love for everything craft beer. Although some of my favourite imports won’t be at this festival, it’s always cool to have an excuse to taste local craft, talk shit and get boozed! Here’s the presser for the Annual Hops Harvest Festival at Wild Clover Farm:
The Lowdown!
After a successful inaugural festival in 2013 the Hops Harvest Festival, in association with 4Leaf Agency, will be making a return to the Wild Clover Farm in Stellenbosch on the 10th of May in celebration of the close of the harvest season.
The Hops Harvest Festival will see up to 10 local breweries exhibit their finest “golden brew” including Birkenhead, Boston, Red Sky, Apollo, Lakeside, Stella Artois, Marais and of course the Farm’s very own Wild Clover Brewery.
Visitors can look forward to sampling a variety of hand-crafted beers, as well as the opportunity to taste some of the natural-produced beers available from Wild Clover Brewery itself – including an English Ale, an Irish Porter, a German Pils and a fruity Belgian Wit.
The Hops Harvest Festival offers something for the whole family. From beer tastings, ciders and wine for adults to live music, a kid’s entertainment zone, shaded seated areas and a selection of mouth-watering food including wild boar on the spit, burgers and pizzas.
“We are excited to be hosting the Festival for the second year”, says Ampie Kruger, owner and brewer at the Wild Clover Brewery. “As many of the Cape’s beer festivals are typically held in the City Center and Southern Suburbs, the Hops Harvest Festival offers visitors from the North the opportunity to sample some of the country’s finest craft beers. We look forward to a day of great beer, music, food and company!”
