Plett Rage. The premier student music and lifestyle festival in the Western Cape and arguably the largest student festival in the Southern Hemisphere, is once again set to take place this year in the town of Plettenberg Bay from the 29th November – 8th December 2013.
The road to independence starts at Plett Rage “Destination Freedom” and with 10 days, 6 epic festival venues, amazing activations and explosive headline acts by South Africa’s top DJ’s and artists, Plett Rage will be the icing on the cake of any Matriculants calendar and the experience of a life-time!
The journey that is Plett Rage, a rite of passage where Matriculants get the opportunity to celebrate the end of an era with their friends, and as a community, gets bigger and better each year! Plett Rage 2013 will boast exciting activations by sponsors Adidas, Red Bull, SAB, Distell, Lipton and Stimorol, amongst others, and feature the likes of Roger Goode, Goldfish, Haezer, Niskerone, Goodluck, Die Heuwels Fantasties, DJ Fresh, Jack Parow, Pascal & Pearce, Gareth Cliff, Mi Casa and many more.
A festival that never sleeps, Plett Rage focuses not only on partying but on lifestyle too – Central Beach sees a burst of activity as students flock to soak up the sunshine and get their heart rates pumping by participating in daily beach sports like soccer, 360 Ball and volleyball.
Safe transport. Check. Designated drivers. Check. Dedicated safety officers. Check. Jen Almendro Account Manager for Plett Rage says, “Plett Rage has always been about having fun in a responsible manner, and the safety and security of students is our number one priority. We work closely with Plettenberg Bay’s local council and law enforcement as well as local groups such as the Red Frogs, a volunteer group who act as designated drivers ensuring students return safely to their accommodation.”
After its successful launch last year, Plett Rage 2013 will see Rage 4 Good, a campaign which affords the opportunity for students to ‘give back’, make its second appearance at the festival. Rage 4 Good, in partnership with the Bitou 10 Foundation, an NGO with a focus on changing the landscape of local youth, will extend on the educational legacy projects implemented last year. This year, Rage 4 Good will be hosting a Christmas party, with the help of sponsors and volunteers, targeting children in the most critical educational phase, Early Childhood Development.
