You either love them or hate them. Personally, I have grown to love oysters over the years, and what better way to enjoy the slimy little sensations that for a fraction of the normal price, right?
Check out some of my personal best oyster specials in the Mother City which may also include bubbly, cocktails and alike! If you know of any other winners, please drop me a comment below so I can go check them out.
Sotano – Mouille Point
My best restaurant on the Sea Point Promenade now offers an oyster and Pierre Jourdan bubbly happy hour from 4pm – 6pm every day of the week. They serve up medium Saldanha Bay oysters for R12 each, 6 oysters and a glass of bubbles for R125 or 12 oysters and a bottle of bubbles for R345!
They also happen to be Entertainer App friendly, so that means buy one get one free on all mains if you use the app. Extra win!
Sea Grill 2nd Avenue by La Boheme
This place is my go-to when I am in the Southern Suburbs and has the most affordable oysters I have come across to date. They offer R10 oysters from 4pm – 6pm daily. Quality is great and the setting is great in the buzzing Harfield Village!
Sea Breeze Fish & Shell
This spot on Bree Street is always a vibe during happy hours, where you get R12 oysters from 12pm – 1pm and 5pm – 6pm Monday through Saturday. The best part is that you also get half price on all their rum cocktails from 5pm – 7pm, which are a must if you ever visit! I think the Rum Cannonball was the name of the best one on their menu.
Ocean Blue Camps Bay
When it comes to Camps Bay strip, you usually associate it with over the top prices, although Ocean Blue is a family run restaurant which has been here (my home town) for over 20 years. Their family values reflect in their pricing, with R15 Knysna oysters available all day for R15 each, plus R50 all day cocktails to wash them down!
