I started watching a new series last week that aired on South African television called Alcatraz. It seemed pretty decent so I waited for this week to see the second episode and was just about to start streaming the third when I saw a reply to one of my Tweets… A guy from Reading in England told me the show has been cancelled by FOX and they won’t be making a second season! The series has some pretty good numbers, but they kept declining as the season went on, and, after the finale episode saw a further decline (where it usually sees a small spike regardless) that was the last straw for FOX!
It stars that same fat brother from LOST that won the lottery, and, I must be honest I am pretty bleak after hearing the news that there is pretty much no point of me watching any further episodes. If you would like to read a bit more about the dead end series check out the review [here] to get some further insight from the Hollywood Reporter. It is not all bad news for producer JJ Adams (and I) though as FOX has ordered a fifth season of Fringe, one of my favourite series! There are still rumours about whether it still could be cancelled and taken over to comic books, but I have high hopes… News is also circulating that NBC has ordered his brand new series, Revolution, from Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
Please Lord have mercy, enough with all these series that I dig being cancelled… Let’s hope agent Olivia Dunham, Peter and Walter Bishop make a return to the screen in season 5 for more LSD craziness and bizarre events!!!
