The Cape Town Marathon is less than 3 weeks away and will be taking place on Sunday, 22nd of September. The event is a qualifier for Comrades 2014 and provides the perfect opportunity for seasoned and social runners alike to test their ability on what we like to think is one of the most scenic routes this country has to offer.
Local and International runners are welcomed, this special event invites everyone to enjoy Cape Town from the road. It has a flat gradient and fast pace, so is perfect for athletes looking to clock great times. For athletes looking to do their first marathon – there is an 8-hour cut off especially there to give them a chance to do just that.
There is also a 10km run which is better suited for people like me, who wouldn’t make 42km’s in their wildest dreams… I am pretty keen to give the 10km a bash, and, at the same time complete my first long distance style race since the cross country in 1998. You can follow @CTMarathon on Twitter and check out their website [here] for more information and entry details!
