INTERNATIONAL ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENTS
wAFF
Over the last two years wAFF has become one of the most engaging artists on the international circuit, joining the ever popular and influential Hot Creations / Paradise family, several highly commended releases and a residency with Jamie Jones’s ‘already under his belt.
As the future offers up a whole world of opportunity, he’s putting his all into creating music of the highest quality, built to unite and excite in equal amounts. He started out in North Yorkshire with no connection to the global night world apart from an unquenchable passion for music. But he listened. He worked. And now he’s right in the frame.
His music has been getting the nod from Sven Väth, Adam Beyer, Loco Dice, Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola and dozens more. He’s even been asked to collaborate with Masters At Work. Not bad going. And that’s not all. Other wAFF collaborations in the works include Eats Everything, Patrick Topping, Cuartero and Argy, as well as remixes for Groove Armada (‘Final Shakedown’), Fur Coat (‘There’s No Time’), Hot Since 82 (‘Plane and Trains’), and Mike Gill featuring Robert Owens (‘In The Midst’).
Paranoid London
For an electronic music culture increasingly bloated, glitzy, and insufferable, the British duo Paranoid London is a refreshing punch to the nuts. They emulate the shoddy, shady days of early Chicago house: The mad whinnying squeals, the 303s, the deadpan vocals—all of it is here, and it hits with visceral force.
The tracks that Delgado and Whalley craft are simple as a prison shiv, not adding layers of gloss or paint to its acid-house, but stripping it back to its basics. Almost every track is erected from the same blocks: handclaps bright as tin foil, dry snares, sharp hi-hats, concussive kicks, all of it buoyed by queasy undulations of bass. They emulate Trax and those shoddy, shady days of Chicago pressings to the point that you expect a chunk of rubber to be embedded in the records themselves.
Del La Swing
Domingo Bellot, was born in Madrid in the 80’s starting his musical career at the tender age of 16. His main influences include techno as well as Drum & bass. His technical skills, ability to connect with the public and diverse musical style has made him one of the most versatile dj´s in Spain. Over the past 5 years De La Swing has shared the turntables with a class dj´s such as: Loco Dice , Richy Hawtin, Dubfire, Laurent Garnier, Joseph Capriati, Adam Beyer, etc .. and has played at festivals like Monegros Desert Festival (Spain), Eastern Electric Festival (London), Kingsday Madness (Holland)
Since 2010 he has become the most respected resident DJ at the world famous clubbing brand – ElRow, the after hour party that became in a glimpse, one of the best clubs in Europe and probably the world.
ElRow, based in the ever growing electronic hub of Barcelona, is the brainchild of the organisers of Europe’s only desert festival, Monegros, and owners of the acclaimed techno club Florida 135. Attracting stellar line ups and captivating the hearts of the world’s greatest DJs. Every Sunday morning more than 5000 clubbers religiously attend ElRow where these 7 residents keep everyone dancing until the last second that the club is open.
JoeSki
JoeSki was born in Brooklyn NY, and raised in a highly diversified and urban neighborhood in Corona, Queens. Growing up a short ride away from the New York City Underground House scene. In 1991, JoeSki was booked to play at NYC Wunder Bar. Located in the heart of a crowded Manhattan, where tall buildings lined the street, and hundreds of people waited outside of the front of the club, where promoters used thick velvet ropes, guest lists and bouncers to control the crowd of people waiting to get picked to come inside for the night. The demand to get into a top pumping house club then was insatiable.
Over the next few years JoeSki began to build a career domestically, and became one of the founders of “The Chocolate Factory”. His career expanded throughout NYC historical clubs such as “The Limelight”, Tunnel, Palladium & NASA. JoeSki then hooked up with DJ Keoki, where they played together at the infamous East Village after-hours club “Save the Robots”. Shortly after he accepted the Residency for the “Together” party Friday nights at the “Roxy”. It was a privilege to play alongside America’s finest DJ’s including Danny T, Little Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez.
Dino Lenny
Making a welcome return to Synergy – Dino Lenny is an Italian electronic producer based in London and is on Maceo Plex’s world famous Ellum label. In 2015 Dino signed his 3 eps “It’s Saturday”, “Living in a Song” & the anthem “This Is a Love song” to Ellum. 2016 saw Dino remixing in partnership with Seth Troxler’s “The Magic Room” out on Seth’s label (Play It Say It) and contemporary on Innervisions “A Certain Distance” with a great Rework from label boss Dixon himself.
This year the Italian wizard is getting remixed by Agoria & Maceo Plex. Recent highlights include playing at Tomorrowland (Belgium), Labyrinth (Antwerp), Sonar (Spain) & Pacha (Ibiza).
Shaded (LIVE)
Creating a completely unique and different style of music today, SHADED has a signature sound – a weaving combination of funky, psychedelic vibes and textures, making his sets something to remember. His sound is undeniable in character and is breathing new life into the techno world.
Since the creation of SHADED in 2012, he has been playing his LIVE sets worldwide from festivals in Mexico and Croatia to clubs in London, Berlin, and Brazil. From touring with the SCI + TEC family and playing alongside Dubfire and Carlo Lio he has gained recognition throughout the industry as one of the top LIVE acts, exciting crowds with his brand of ‘’funkadelic’’ techno. Through touring with SCI + TEC, fans and admiration for his style of music have grown considerably, leading to increased demand for his solo performances.
This year his major noted release on SCI +TEC was the EP ‘‘Dwell’’ that reached #1 on the Top 100 Minimal Release charts via Beatport. After the success of ‘’Dwell’’ he followed up with his most recent EP – ‘’SHE SHE’’, his debut release on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, solidifying his production versatility.
