I went for dinner a while back at Tuscany Beach in Camps Bay. Being an up market venue targeted at International, top end clientèle, I usually overlook them when seeking somewhere to go for dinner. They do everything from meat, seafood to sushi, even awesome Italian pizza and pasta. I heard that they had a sick new special so I thought why not go try it out. I couldn;t say no to a gourmet meal at pretty much the price of a Goodie Burger & Chips at the Spur now could I? Not to mention the fact that they have awesome views, and, I used to work their as a waiter in my younger years so I know the food is damn good quality!
After a long decision period I went for the sirloin steak with chips as a side line. One thing I can say about Tuscany is that the service is always good and it was something they always made sure I had under control when I used to work there. If you weren’t on your toes and up to speed (like some of my mates) you wouldn’t last very long there! I had a look through the sauces and because I was already getting such a good deal, I thought I would add a pepper/mushroom sauce to my meal. I won’t lie it was proper!
The steak was cooked to perfection and went down great with the specially tailored sauce they cooked up for me. One thing about Tuscany I know is that their meat is always of the highest quality. The 250g meals came to R120 for two steaks, including a sideline of your choice, so at R60 for a 250g sirloin with chips is definitely a steal! Some other meals I can recommend on the menu include Thai Prawn Soup (starter), Paella, Seafood Pizza, Veal Parmigiana, Penne Filleto, T-Bone Steak, Fillet, Calamari, Norwegian Salmon, Beef Lasagne and in the dessert category without a doubt the Chocolate Brownies or Tiramisu.
They also make some mouth watering cocktails. The list is extremely extensive and anything you can think of is on that list, including a few cocktails that you have surely never heard of. The ones I can recommend include the Suffering Bastard, Mai Tai, Forbidden Fruit, Mermaids Orgasm & Basil Grande! To see the entire cocktail list and all their speciality shooters click [here].
