I am quite new to the Vodafone Firsts campaign section on their website, but this one seemed pretty cool that just launched a few hours ago. The Vodafone Firsts program was launched to help people use its technology to do extraordinary things for the first time. From surfing the World’s most dangerous wave, to women’s self-defense in India!
Olympic boxer Mary Kom has taken on the task of launching her #First Female Fight Club, with the aim of hopes to boosting the self-confidence of women in India with her self-defense app. Females across India can attend her Women only boxing camps and get trained in the finer arts by the Olympic medalist herself!
In collaboration with Vodafone Firsts, Mark Kom wants to help teach Indian woman the art of self defense, using mobile technology and an app that is currently under development! This self defense smartphone app will help teach teach young women the mental and physical skills needed to improve their self-confidence and to defend themselves. Check out the trailer that dropped earlier today:
When Vodafone asked champion boxer Mary Kom what she wanted to do for the first time, she said she wanted to help women across India learn to defend themselves. Using mobile technology and connecting Kom with the right people, Vodafone is helping to make the 30-year-old Olympian’s ambition a reality!
When technology and human endeavour come together, amazing things can happen. What app would you create that could help people experience something amazing for the first time? See more awesome Vodafone Firsts [here].
